For South African small business

Your shop should tell you what it made — before you count the tin.

Zenzo builds the three systems every small business actually runs on: a booking page that fills itself, a till that balances itself, and one dashboard that shows you where the money is. Live in about two weeks. No IT person required.

01 / The problem

You're not short of hustle. You're short of a system.

Most small businesses in this country run on three things: a WhatsApp chat, a cash tin, and the owner's memory. It works — until it doesn't.

A

The WhatsApp diary

Bookings buried in DMs, double-bookings on Saturdays, and no-shows you can't charge for because there's no deposit.

B

The cash tin

You only know what you made at 8pm when you count it. And you can't remember what Tuesday looked like.

C

The shoebox

Slips in a packet, stock in your head, and a scramble every February when the accountant asks for numbers.

D

The guesswork

You know what sells a lot. You don't know what actually makes money after cost — so you price on feel.

02 / What we build

Three systems. One place. Built around how you already work.

We don't sell you software and disappear. We build the setup for your business, load your services and stock, train your staff, and stay on the other end of a WhatsApp when something needs changing.

Bookings & reminders

  • Your own booking page — share the link in your bio, on WhatsApp, on a poster
  • Deposits taken up front so no-shows cost them, not you
  • Automatic email confirmation on booking, and a reminder the day before
  • A calendar per staff member, with their own hours and days off
  • Repeat clients rebook in two taps

Till & cashier

  • Tap-to-sell screen on a tablet or an old phone — staff learn it in ten minutes
  • Keeps ringing up sales when the network or the power goes, then syncs
  • Cash, card, SnapScan, Zapper — recorded separately, reconciled for you
  • Digital slips by email; stock counts down as you sell
  • Shift cash-ups that show exactly who was on the till

Owner dashboard

  • Takings today, this week, this month — on your phone, wherever you are
  • Margin per product, not just turnover, so you can price properly
  • Cash versus card, so shrinkage shows up early
  • Low-stock and slow-mover alerts before they cost you
  • A clean monthly export your accountant will actually thank you for
AUTOMATION

The 18:00 cash-up

An email summary at closing every day. Takings, sales count, best seller, tomorrow's bookings, anything running low.

AUTOMATION

Money that chases itself

Unpaid invoices get a polite nudge on day 7, a firmer one on day 14 — in your words, without you thinking about it.

AUTOMATION

Reviews on autopilot

Two hours after a good job, the customer gets one message asking for a Google review. That's how the next month fills.

03 / Live demo

Don't take our word for it. Push the buttons.

This is a working demo of a barbershop's setup, running right here in your browser. Make a booking, ring up a sale — then open the dashboard and watch your own numbers move.

04 / How it works

Four steps. Fixed price. No surprises.

STEP 01

The walkthrough

Twenty minutes on a call or in your shop. You show us how a normal day runs. We ask where it hurts. Free, and no pitch deck.

STEP 02

The blueprint

You get a one-page plan of exactly what we'll build, what it costs, and what it saves — with a fixed quote. If it's not worth it, we'll say so.

WITHIN 48 HOURS
STEP 03

The build

We load your services, prices, staff and stock, connect your card machine, and test it against real days from your business.

1–2 WEEKS
STEP 04

Go live

We're there for the first trading day. Staff training included. Then 30 days of hand-holding while everyone gets used to it.

DAY ONE + 30 DAYS
05 / Example builds

What this looks like in three different businesses.

Illustrative examples of typical setups — not client case studies.

SALON / BARBER

Six chairs, walk-ins and bookings

Booking page per stylist, R80 deposit on colour work, email reminders, a till that splits commission per chair, and a Sunday summary of who earned what.

MARKET / POP-UP

A stall that moves every weekend

Offline-first till on a phone, stock counted per event, takings per market so you know which one is worth the petrol, and a pre-order link for regulars.

TRADE / MOBILE

Two vans, jobs all over town

Job bookings with an address and a time window, quotes sent from the phone, invoices that chase themselves, and a dashboard of what each van brought in.

06 / Pricing

You get the quote before we touch a keyboard.

A once-off build fee, then a monthly fee that covers hosting, backups, updates and support. Cancel the monthly whenever — no contract, no penalty, and your data leaves with you.

07 / Questions

The things owners ask us first.

Do I need to be good with computers?
No. If you can use WhatsApp, you can use what we build. The till is designed so a new staff member is confident inside ten minutes, and we do the training in person or on a call — as many times as you need in the first month.
How do reminders and slips reach my customers?
By email — booking confirmations, the reminder before the appointment, digital slips, invoices and your monthly report. It works from day one with nothing to apply for, and everything is logged, so if a customer says they were never reminded there's a timestamp to show them. WhatsApp is available as an add-on for businesses that want it, but it isn't instant: Meta requires your business to be verified with documents matching your registered name, every message template has to be approved by them, and the number can't be one that's already on WhatsApp — so it needs a second line. We set all of that up for you when you're ready for it.
What happens when the power or the network goes?
The till keeps working. Sales are recorded on the device and sync the moment you're back online, so you never lose a transaction or turn a customer away. Card payments still need the bank, but cash and SnapScan carry on — and everything reconciles automatically afterwards.
I already use a card machine and a spreadsheet. Do I have to throw those away?
No, and you shouldn't. We build around what you already pay for — your card machine, your accounting software, your existing spreadsheet history. Where a tool works, we connect to it. We only replace things that are actively costing you time or money.
What about my customers' personal information?
Your data lives in your own accounts, not ours, and we set it up with POPIA in mind: only the information you actually need, consent captured when customers book, and staff access limited to what each person needs to do their job. When we hand over, you hold the keys.
How long until it's actually running?
A single system is usually live within a week of the quote being accepted. The full three-part setup takes one to two weeks, depending on how much stock and history we're loading. We go live on a quiet trading day, never on a Saturday.
What if I only want one piece of it?
That's what Starter is for. Most owners begin with whichever problem is loudest — usually bookings or the till — and add the rest once they trust it. Nothing about the first build blocks the second.
Are you only working in one city?
Most of the work is done remotely, so we build for businesses anywhere in South Africa. Where an in-person go-live day makes sense and you're outside our area, we'll quote travel up front in the blueprint — no surprise line items afterwards.
What happens if I stop paying the monthly?
The monthly fee is what keeps the system running — hosting, backups, updates, support and the reminders going out. If it stops, so does your access to the software: the booking page comes down, the till stops ringing up sales and the dashboard closes. Your information is still yours, though. We export everything — customers, bookings, sales history, stock — in a format you or your next system can read, and we keep that export available to you for 30 days. There's no lock-in contract and no penalty: give us notice before your next billing date and that's the end of it.
